Sheridan Village - Built in the 1950's, and I believe, was Tulsa's first modern shopping center. It was razed in 2009.
It had Tulsa's first escalator, and was built on the corner of Admiral and Sheridan, back when that area of town was booming, due to the growth of the Douglas Aircraft Plant and the American Airlines maintenanace base in the Northeast
area of town. Sheridan Village was also the home of my very first job, at Borden's Cafeteria, making a whopping
75 cents per hour.
